Third Trimester!!!

There are conflicting reports on what the actual beginning of the third trimester is...27 or 28 weeks. I'm close enough to 28 so we'll say we're there! :) I have absolutely no complaints! I have loved every second of being pregnant and definitely don't want to rush it. But, I'm so terrible about surprises that I'm DYING to see this baby boy!

So this is my 27 week Grey belly! I can't believe we're in the home stretch! Isn't he getting big?? If you look at the shape of my belly, it looks a little pointed...right? Well, I can tell he is so long! I can feel his feet right where the bend of my elbow is and I believe that's his little hiney right in front. But, I feel body parts extending every corner of my belly! It's really crazy. Grey is still such a little mover! At 26 weeks, he made contact with my ribs on the right side. I'm thinking that's a good sign that he's head down... He definitely has awake and sleeping patterns. He is normally moving around wildly around 5:30 a.m. and does so for about 45 minutes to an hour. Then, right before 8 a.m. he wakes back up to Curtis' alarm and stays up for a while. Mid-morning, he slows down then picks back up around lunch. Afternoons are quite, until dinner. Then, 7 - 10 p.m. he really cranks back up.

Curtis and I love to watch my belly at night. Grey shifts from side to side, kicks and punches. Last night, Curtis was talking to him and he was going crazy. It was a lot of fun! He really responds to singing too. ...too bad he has to hear my voice!
Coming up next week, I take the dreaded glucose test. Eeek. I'm hoping everything stays down and I pass. Sweets are SUPER sweet to me, so here's to keeping the magic orange stuff down. I'm also excited that we have another ultrasound appointment. This is the "big" ultrasound for us where the perinatologist will measure Grey again and come up with a birth plan. In case you forgot, Grey was measuring a little big. Plus, I was 9 lbs. 6 oz. and Curtis was almost 9 lbs. SO, I'm interested to see how big he is and come up with a game plan.

This week, Curtis and his dad started on the nursery. I can't wait to post pictures!!

25 Week Update and Tampa...

Here I am in all my glory at 25 weeks...in front of what appears to be a dying Christmas tree! Hmm, didn't seem so dead in person...

Each day it seems my belly is getting bigger. I had a great appointment with Dr. H. I gained a whopping 6 pounds last month. Definitely due to having Thanksgiving and Christmas food. All in all, I've gained 12 pounds. Everything is measuring perfectly and heartbeat still sounds as good as ever!

My doctor jokes that we named Grey, Robert Grey, because his first name is Robert. So, he decided early on that he would call him "Bobby". Well, last week we told him that my dad calls him "Bobby G" and Dr. H thought that was the funniest thing he'd ever heard. So, sorry Grey baby...looks like Bobby G might be a nickname that sticks! ...you can thank your Pawpaw!

After my appointment, we escaped the snowy/icey city of Atlanta to go to Tampa for my cousin's wedding. I lived in Florida and I never knew Florida could get that cold!! Holy cow! It was FREEZING!

But we had a great time, despite the weather. It was great to see aunts, uncles and cousins on my mom's side! The wedding was beautiful, despite being outside in 40 degree weather!

Here we are at the bridesmaids luncheon. Rebecca, the bride-to-be, is in the red and black.

Jeanne, the MOB, mom and her sister Tot. Jeanne doesn't have grandbabies yet and is SO excited about Grey. She immediately grabbed my belly and talked to him. "Grey, it's NeNe...I love you and can't wait until you get here!" It was so funny. She told me numerous times, "I want to called NeNe and Philip (her husband) wants to be called Popsicle." How great are those names?!! Totally fitting for them!

Rebecca with her sisters, Stephanie and Ellen and mom, Jeanne.
Mom and dad with Curtis and me at the rehearsal dinner...
I hate that I didn't get any pictures at the reception. I was just too cold to snap pictures. However, for the father daughter dance, Rebecca and her dad, Phillip, danced to a sweet song. Apparently, Phillip requested that "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer be played after their sweet song!! It was so funny to watch them dance to that!!
We really had a great time! The trip definitely confirmed that I can't do road trips anymore for that long. Whew! I was so glad to get home!
