Viva Las Vegas!

We returned today from a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas. Curtis had a business trip out there and I was happy to tag along. (I love working part-time!) While we were there we visited our friends, Tony and Lia and even got to see my cousin Kendall play a basketball game for UNLV. Super fun trip!

Curtis had a meeting in St. George, Utah, about an hour and a half from Vegas. We drove in and I dropped him off at the meeting and went to grab some breakfast. When I picked him up we headed about another hour north to Zion National Park. Totally beautiful country!

We decided to take a driving tour that takes you all through the park. Doesn't the road look like Georgia clay?

The mountains were huge and gorgeous. Totally worth the trip!

We picked up lunch before we got there at this catchy little deli called Jimmy John's. Anyway, here is the pickle that serve with your sandwiches!! This thing could serve four!

After touring the park for a while, we headed back to Vegas to stay with Tony and Lia. They have the cutest house!! Love it. It brought back the best memories of my Florida house. Anyway, they have two awesome cats. I would have been missing my Gus and Larri terribly if it hadn't been for Simo and Mars. They have great little personalities too. I almost packed them in my suitcase and took them home!
This is Simo on our bed visiting.

This is Mars...how cute are his feet? Boy, can he jump!!

Friday night they took us to eat at rumjungle, a Brazilian restaurant. We ate our hearts out. This is the kind of place where they bring the meat out and carve it off the stick. But, everything is all you can eat...and that we did!

The bar is seriously the coolest part of this place! Look how huge it is! They have a whole menu of different types of rum....hence the name rumjungle. But it changed colors all night. Super fun!

Happy and full!

After dinner, we drove over to New York, New York casino and played.

Vegas just wouldn't be Vegas in you didn't run into seven Elvis' gambling!

Saturday we went to see my cousin Kendall play for UNLV. So much fun!! Seriously. I had no idea that school had so much school spirit. Super fun game.

Kendall had an awesome game too! We stayed after to chat and make plans to meet up and people wanted his autograph! I strange moment for me as I was having flashbacks to his diaper days!

Tony and Lia took us to the best places to eat. Here were are at this awesome Mexican restaurant. We ordered margaritas, guacamole and fajitas! So yummy!

Here is Kendall and his girlfriend Cali. We met up with them at the Bellagio. Oh to be carefree and in college again...

Later we did a little tour of the strip. I have been to Vegas a few times before on business trips/races, but Curtis had only been once on a super quick trip. He had never seen the water show, so we did that...

...and got our picture in front of the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.

We had the best time with Tony and Lia. They were such troupers showing us the city, touring us around...even getting up at 4 a.m. on Sunday to take us to the airport. Yikes. We were packing and from the darkness of their bedroom we hear Lia yell, "don't leave!!" The trip was a great opportunity to meet Lia. She is the most fun, loving person. They are getting married in May and I cannot wait! We love her!! In fact, we are so sad we live so far away. Tony has a got a good thing in her!
